The iPhone Duo Countdown: Four Weeks to Pre-Orders
Duo pre-orders open October 16, on-sale October 23. Four weeks to confirm an order, with the holiday built into the plan. The week-by-week buyer checklist.

The iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23, 2026, and pre-orders open October 16. That leaves roughly four weeks for a wholesale buyer to confirm an order, run production, and move stock toward the market. Four weeks is enough — if the order is confirmed this week. Here is the countdown, week by week, with the factory calendar built in.
Last updated: September 20, 2026.
What a Launch Runway Means for a Buyer
A launch runway is the stretch between confirming an order and having stock ready to sell, counted backward from the day the phone reaches customers. On the Duo, that runway starts now.
The dates are Apple's, not ours: pre-orders open Friday, October 16, and the device goes on sale Friday, October 23, 2026. Everything a buyer does between now and then either feeds those dates or misses them.
One honest boundary before the checklist. Nobody on earth knows what Duo demand looks like — the device has not shipped. What a buyer can control is the order calendar, and that is what the four weeks below organize.
Week One, Now: Freeze the Order
This is the week to fix the three decisions everything else depends on: models, finishes, and quantities.
The Duo ships in two colors, Night Sky and Star White, so the color decision is narrow, but the finish decision is not: a clear build, a hinge-kickstand build, and a hinge-protection build read as different products on the same phone. Confirming them this week matters because the factory calendar compresses right after — our production line closes October 1 through 7 for the holiday, and orders confirmed this week run on production days that still exist in September.
This is also the week to settle branding. A logo applied to a stocked finish is quick; anything custom needs a decision before the order, not after.
The Holiday Weeks: October 1 to 7
Our production line closes October 1 through 7. For an order confirmed this week, that break sits in the middle of the runway, and the plan absorbs it rather than pretending it away.
Production days for a week-one order run through late September, pause for the closure, and resume after October 7. The first restart week carries both resumed work and the orders placed during the holiday, which is why we queue those in arrival order. A buyer who confirmed in September holds a place that a late-order buyer cannot buy into.
If you are reading this after October 1, the order is still possible — the queue just starts when we return, and the ship date moves with it.
Restart Week: October 8 to 15
The week after the closure is when restart production runs and the last pre-launch decisions get made.
For a buyer, this is the week to finalize listing preparation: product photos, compatibility wording, marketplace copy. The cases are moving; the listing should be moving too. It is also the week to book freight, because ocean transit typically runs four to six weeks and containers booked in mid-October are the ones that arrive for the demand spike rather than after it.
Pre-orders open October 16, inside this week. A buyer whose order is confirmed and production underway can list for pre-orders with a stated ship date; a buyer still negotiating cannot.
On Sale: October 23, and What You Should Already Have
By the on-sale date, a prepared buyer has three things: confirmed stock in production or in transit, a listing live with compatibility wording, and a reorder plan.
The reorder plan is the part most buyers skip. Nobody knows Duo sell-through yet, so the first order is a test, and the second order — placed on existing molds, on a shorter cycle — is how a buyer responds to whatever the test shows. Buyers who hold that trigger enter launch week calmly; buyers who bet everything on one order enter it hoping.
If the first sell-through is fast, the honest fix is a reorder plus a decision on air freight for the first tranche, and we have written about when paying air earns its cost. What does not work is waiting for the sell-out to start thinking about it.
Common Questions From Buyers
Is four weeks really enough to have stock?
For production, yes if the order is confirmed now: molds exist and September days are still available, with restart slots after the holiday. For delivery, it depends on freight: ocean typically runs four to six weeks, so launch-week stock by ocean is tight and may need an air split for the first tranche. Tell us your market and we will give you an honest answer for your lane.
What if I order after the holiday?
It is still workable, and we will not pretend otherwise. The difference is queue position: orders confirmed before the break hold September production days and an early restart slot, while orders after October 7 join the restart queue behind them. Later orders ship later — that is the whole effect.
Which Duo finishes should I list first?
Both colors, with the finish matched to the tone: frosted matte for Night Sky, clear for Star White, with hinge protection across both for buyers who want the strongest case. Ask us for the current Duo finish list and match it to what your market pulls.
What to Do Next
Our Duo molds are cut and running, the holiday dates are fixed, and the restart queue is filling in order. The four weeks between now and pre-orders are enough — if the order is confirmed this week.
Tell us the models, colors, and quantities you plan to carry, and we will confirm your production slot and a realistic ship window before the closure starts.
Confirm your Duo order this week and we will lock your production slot before the holiday.
