The Dates That Matter
The closure runs October 1 through October 7. Production stops for those days and restarts after the break, with capacity ramping back over the following week.
The dates that decide your shipment sit before the closure, not inside it. An order confirmed now runs on production days that still exist this month. An order placed in the last days of September starts behind the queue and crosses the break, which pushes the first production days into mid-October.
Nothing about this is a sales device. A factory calendar is public arithmetic: the holiday is fixed, the days before it are finite, and every buyer planning a Q4 order is working from the same count.
What the Break Does to Your Ship Date
The break costs you more than the seven days it covers.
An order that crosses the closure loses the production days inside it, then competes for restart capacity with every other buyer who crossed it too. The week after October 7 is the most contested stretch on our calendar, because it carries resumed production plus everything that queued behind the break.
Ocean freight adds its own arithmetic on top. Who Should Order Before the Break
Three situations make a pre-holiday order the clear choice.
The first is Q4 stock in general. Black Friday lands November 27, and the orders that serve that peak leave China in October. A production slot this month plus an October departure is the normal path to a November arrival.
The second is iPhone Duo coverage specifically. The Duo goes on sale October 23 with pre-orders from October 16, which means the first customer demand spike lands almost exactly on top of the post-holiday restart. Stock that arrives before that spike was ordered before the break, and the whole-case Duo range is already in production.
The third is any reorder on a proven design. Reorders run on existing molds and are shorter cycles, but a reorder that starts after October 7 still starts behind planned work, and the days it loses are the days your strongest design is out of stock.
What Stays Open During the Holiday
The factory pauses, and the parts of your order that do not need production continue.
Inquiries sent during the break are answered when we return, in the order they arrived. Orders placed during the closure are queued in that same order, so an early message holds your place without needing a reply to confirm it. Samples already in progress are unaffected, because they were produced before the break.

Can I place an order during the holiday week?
Yes, and it will be queued in arrival order for production when we restart. What you cannot do is use those days as production days. If your delivery date depends on output in early October, the order needs to be confirmed before the break instead.
When does production fully return to normal?
Production restarts after October 7, with capacity ramping over the following week as lines and staff return in stages. The restart week carries the backlog from the break plus new orders, which is why we recommend confirming pre-break rather than planning around a fast restart.
How does this affect my iPhone Duo launch order?
The Duo goes on sale October 23, and demand is highest in the weeks right after. Stock for that window should be produced before the break or in the first restart slots, which are allocated in order. Confirming now protects both the production days and the ship date.
